Meet Dr. Corsten

Award-winning otolaryngologist Dr. Martin Corsten is one of the partners and surgeons of the Head & Neck Cancer Center of Texas. He is board certified in head and neck surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Recently named the Director of Surgical Oncology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Dr. Corsten is pleased to be helping patients in Dallas and Fort Worth fight back against cancer. With a broad, international education and a focus in head and neck surgery, Dr. Corsten is a valuable partner at the Head & Neck Cancer Center of Texas.

Skills and Specialties

At the Head & Neck Cancer Center of Texas, Dr. Corsten performs surgical treatment for patients in Dallas and Fort Worth who have head and neck cancer. During his training, Dr. Corsten learned many advanced techniques for oncology surgery, including microvascular free tissue transfer, transoral robotic surgery, sentinel node biopsy for melanoma, endonasal and skull base surgery, and the removal of thyroid and parathyroid lesions. Dr. Corsten has extensive experience in resections and reconstruction surgery to help patients heal after cancer.

Education and Training

After earning his undergraduate degree in physics with honors from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Dr. Corsten went on to obtain his doctorate of medicine, also with honors, from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Corsten then completed an internship at the Ottawa Civic Hospital followed with a residency in otolaryngology at the University of Ottawa. He finished his formal education with a fellowship in head and neck oncology, including skull base surgery, at the University of California in Davis.
