Meet Dr. Ducic

Dr. Yadro Ducic is a board-certified surgeon who is proud to be part of the team at the Head & Neck Cancer Center of Texas serving the Dallas/Fort Worth community. With extensive education and training in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) as well as facial reconstructive surgery from both Canada and America, Dr. Ducic is skilled at helping patients with head and neck cancer. During his time serving the North Texas area, Dr. Ducic has earned many awards for his excellent patient care and created innovative treatments that allow more patients to live cancer free.
Dr. Ducic has over 186 publications in all aspects of head and neck cancer excision and reconstruction. He is the fellowship director of the only fellowship in North Texas of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training the specialized surgeons of tomorrow, and a fellow of the American Head and Neck Society.

Skills and Specialties

Changing the standard of care in head and neck cancer across the country, Dr. Ducic has developed new techniques that have made it possible to treat and cure previously incurable cancers. His innovative techniques include treating squamous cell carcinoma in the skull base, surgery for thyroid cancer, and bypassing the carotid artery with interposition grafts in patients with advanced cases of cancer. His skill and artistry in facial plastic surgery gives him an advantage during reconstructive surgery in removing cancer from the head and neck, with extensive experience to efficiently restore the patient’s appearance and functions post surgery.

Education and Training

After earning his undergraduate degree and Doctorate in Medicine (M.D.) from University of Ottawa in Canada, Dr. Ducic completed an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital through the University of Toronto in Canada. Following this, he completed his residency in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) at the University of Ottawa in Canada, and a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In addition to his education in head and neck surgery, Dr. Ducic earned a graduate degree in Medical Management from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and University of Texas at Dallas that has helped him lead successful practices and better treat patients.

Dr. Yadro Ducic is a recognized expert in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery. He has described numerous techniques for reconstructing this challenging population of cancer patients as well as improving the curability of many previously incurable cancers. He has authored more than 180 articles and chapters and has trained many prominent surgeons across the USA and Canada. He has always sought to treat every patient as family is what he cherishes the most. He is blessed with four beautiful children, Aleksa, Luka, Nikola and Nadia and is happily married to KaTrina.

Dr. Moustafa Mourad is a practicing Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgeon in New York City. After completing his surgical training from the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt. Sinai, he went on to complete a highly rigorous and competitive sub-specialty fellowship in Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery as part of the American Academy of Facial Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery. His clinical interests are focused on head and neck cancer surgery, aesthetic and functional reconstructive surgery, and microvascular reconstruction. He is an academician with 29 peer reviewed publications in scientific journals focusing on research in oncology and reconstructive surgery. He has also contributed numerous book chapters that help in educating and training surgeons. He values his relationship with his patients and feels privileged in being part of their oncology care.
